Picture this: I’m in Franz Josef, all geared up for an epic glacier hike. I’m talking helicopters, ice picks, the works! But Mother Nature had other plans. After getting suited and booted, we got the news – hike canceled due to bad weather. Talk about a bummer! But hey, that’s the thing about adventure, right? You’ve gotta roll with the punches.
Road Tripping Through Paradise
Undeterred, we hit the road in our trusty RV. Let me tell you, driving through New Zealand is like cruising through a postcard. Every turn brings a new “wow” moment. We’re talking mountains that touch the sky, lakes so blue they look photoshopped, and more sheep than you can count!
The Ferry Adventure
Now, here’s where things get interesting. We had to catch a ferry from the South Island to the North Island. Sounds simple, right? Wrong! Picture this: We’re in a line longer than a queue for the latest iPhone, praying we make it on time. Wellington: The Windy City That Stole My Heart
After a smooth (ish) ferry ride, we landed in Wellington. This city’s got more personality than a reality TV show cast. We hit up Cuba Street for some nightlife, and let me tell you, it was buzzing!
The Grand Finale: Auckland Bound
As our trip wound down, we made the long drive to Auckland. And because the universe has a sense of humor, we had a little… incident. Let’s just say our RV got a bit too friendly with a cafe awning. Oops! But hey, that’s what insurance is for, right?
