Gold Coast & Surfers Paradise | Australian Road Trip 🇦🇺

My journey commenced in Brisbane, the vibrant capital of Queensland, Australia. Having a camper van as my ride and my home made each stop different. However, the past few days have taken an unexpected turn. It turned out to be the best place I have ever been too because it made me feel at home. In this blog I will take you on a beautiful journey where i met amazing people and had a great time. Let me introduce you to a piece of heaven on earth.

A Warm Welcome in Brisbane

Brisbane wasn’t simply another stop — it became a home away from home. I met a group of fellow Indians, mostly from Haryana and adjacent regions They could not be kinder/They were so welcoming. Rather than sleep in my van, I stayed with them for two nights and had excellent meals and conversations. Akhil from Karnal and Yuvan from Yamunanagar, who have been in Brisbane for more than a year, opened up to me and made me feel at home.

Drive to Gold Coast

Gold Coast was just a 45-minute drive away. It was known for beaches, adventure parks, and nights with alive nightlife. I had been wanting to see it for a pretty long time. First stop here was going to be Dreamworld, one of the largest theme parks in Australia. Other options were Warner Bros. Movie World and Sea World, but these require careful choice due to lack of time.

Dreamworld and Reality of Long Lines

We were excited to get to Dreamworld, only to be stuck in a long queue. Standing for over an hour for a ride that lasted barely a minute was frustrating. Some attractions were closed, and others had even longer wait times. It wasn’t what I had expected. So, we left and headed to Movie World instead, hoping for a better experience.

Surfers Paradise: A Panorama Without Compare

Next up was the theme parks, then it was onto Surfers Paradise. The panorama? Simply breath-taking. Long skyscrapers formed a coastline that was edged by an apparently infinite ocean. I remembered Miami—a modern and full of energy town and at life. I also explored Q1 Tower. This building was Australia’s tallest structure. And at its top, with my back against a floor to glass and I look at Gold Coast-which is absolutely unmemorable experience.

The Sling Shot: Pure Adrenaline

And then came the most exciting part of the day, the Sling Shot ride. This beast of a ride catapulted us high into the sky at an insane speed. The first time was terrifying, but by the third time, I was addicted to the rush. It was a mix of weightlessness and pure excitement that I never wanted to forget.

Trying Golf for the First Time

We ended our day with Top Golf. The first time I ever golfed was not too long ago, and all it took me was a few swings-and-a-number-of-misses before I picked up the stroke. What seemed to be arbitrary shots became a tournament. It’s not just playing; it is the laughter that erupts along with the slight wins and a challenge to constantly get better.

Trip Summary

Stop Experience Worth It? Brisbane Met amazing, had a lot of home-cooked meals Dreamworld Long lines, a few closed, left disappointed Not really Movie World Rides better, fun atmosphere Yes Surfers Paradise Scenic skyline, relaxed beach 100% Q1 Tower Best view from the Gold Coast Must see Sling Shot Ride Heart-racing, pure thrill Loved it Top Golf First time playing turned into a great competition Great ending

Final Thoughts

It was not the places I visited but the experiences, the people, and the moments that made me feel alive. Brisbane: the warmth of new friendships to the adrenaline rush of Gold Coast rides—that was its beauty.

Would I do it again? Definitely.

Where should I go next? Let me know in comments
